Is Melsoft Academy accredited?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Melsoft Academy is accredited by the QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations) as a Skills Development Provider under accreditation number 07-QCTO/SDP280823143205. Programmes are quality-assured through the MICT SETA and registered on the NQF through SAQA. Each accredited qualification has its own SAQA ID and NQF level, listed on our accreditation page.

Is Melsoft Academy legit?

Yes. Melsoft Academy is a registered South African EdTech company operating since 2019, with campuses in Rosebank, Johannesburg and Cape Town City Centre. It holds QCTO accreditation number 07-QCTO/SDP280823143205, is a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, and its qualifications are verifiable on the public SAQA register. Independent graduate reviews are published on Course Report and SwitchUp.

Are Melsoft qualifications recognised by South African employers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The accredited programmes are occupational certificates registered on the National Qualifications Framework at NQF Level 5 through SAQA and quality-assured by the MICT SETA, which is the recognised standard for ICT qualifications in South Africa. Employers can verify any qualification by its SAQA ID on allqs.saqa.org.za.

How much do Melsoft courses cost and how long do they take?

Accepted Answer

Accredited 12-month qualifications are R 74 999 and bootcamps are R 49 999 for 6–12 months; the Content Creation programme is R 19 999 over 12 weeks. Learners who join the January 2027 intake (starts 25 January 2027) and pay for themselves, or are sponsored by family or a friend, get the 2027 Early Bird discount of 30%: R 52 500 for an accredited qualification and R 35 000 for a bootcamp once-off, or a R 8 000 deposit by 31 December 2026 followed by monthly instalments (interest included) from January 2027 — for example R 3 997 a month over 12 months for an accredited programme, or R 2 453 a month for a bootcamp. The February and March 2027 intakes, student loans and employer-sponsored places are at the standard fee. Exact fees, durations and intake dates are on each programme page.

What is the 2027 Early Bird discount?

Accepted Answer

The 2027 Early Bird discount is for learners who join the 25 January 2027 intake and pay for themselves, or are sponsored by family or a friend, get 30% off the programme fee. Pay a R 8 000 deposit by 31 December 2026 to secure your seat; the balance is paid upfront (R 52 500 total for an accredited programme, R 35 000 for a bootcamp) or in monthly instalments with interest included, starting January 2027. The discount does not apply to the February or March 2027 intakes, or to student-loan or employer-sponsored places. Full terms are at melsoftacademy.com/january-intake-offer.

Do I need a degree to apply?

Accepted Answer

No. Our accredited programmes accept matric (or equivalent). Bootcamps are open to anyone curious and committed.

Question 7

Are programmes really 100% online?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Live sessions, recorded lectures, async cohorts, and 1:1 mentorship — all delivered remotely. Optional in-person meetups in Johannesburg.

Question 8

What does ‘guaranteed internship’ mean?

Accepted Answer

Every accredited graduate is placed into either a paid or unpaid internship with one of our hiring partners. If we can’t place you, you get a full refund of the placement fee.

Question 9

How can I pay for my course?

Accepted Answer

Three ways: pay upfront and save, spread it over 3 to 12 months at no/low interest, or apply for a student loan through a partner such as Manati once you’ve been accepted into a programme. Self-funded and family-sponsored learners in the January 2027 intake get the 2027 Early Bird discount of 30% with a R 8 000 deposit by 31 December 2026. Employer sponsorship and SETA-funded learnerships are also available — chat to a Student Advisor for the right fit.
